\u00a0\u201cHerbstliche \u00dcberreste: Schwedens Saat\u201c<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWenn wir einst nicht mehr sind, werden diese Steine f\u00fcr uns sprechen\u201c Dieses Zitat von Karl Seitz \u00fcber den sozialen Wohnbau des \u201eroten Wiens\u201c der 1920er Jahre findet in der heutigen Wohnbaupolitik seinen Nachhall. Dank des schwedischen Hilfsprogramms unter Pr\u00e4sident Per Albin Hansson wurden 1947 im 10. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Wohnungen errichtet um die Not der Kriegsfl\u00fcchtlinge zu lindern.<\/p>\n

Die Bilderreihe versucht, die Essenz und die raue Sch\u00f6nheit dieser gut geplanten Wohnanlage, die mich nach wie vor auf meinen t\u00e4glichen Spazierg\u00e4ngen \u00fcberrascht und erfreut, einzufangen. Saaten, herbstliche \u00dcberreste dieser Wohnalage, sprechen noch heute.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u201cAutumnal Residue Seeds of Sweden\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cLong after we are gone these stones will speak for us\u201d. Karl Seitz\u2019s quote commenting on social housing of the 1920\u2019s\u201cRed Vienna\u201d, still resonates in present day housing policy. In 1947 thanks to the Swedish help programme and President Per Albin Hansson, homes were built in the 10th<\/sup> district of Vienna to help relieve the needs of the war refugees.<\/p>\n

This series of images aims to capture the essence and raw beauty of this well designed housing estate which continually surprises and delights me on my daily walks.<\/p>\n

Seeds, autumnal residue from this housing estate, still speaks to us today.<\/p>\n
